Beachmere Sports Fishing Club “snagged” the best weather for their recent 24 hour Fishing competition.

The great weather allowed plenty of offshore fishing as well as estuary and bay fishing for the men, women and children registered.

The catch included grassy sweetlip, stripey seaperch, bluebone as well as squire, sweetlip, school mackeral, moses perch, cod and bream.

Club President Troy Christie said the Club had a 24 hour competition twice a year which allowed time for both offshore or estuary fishing.

“Our regular monthly comp is from 5am with a weigh in by 1pm but twice a year we have a 24 hour competition and it lets those fishing venture a little further away from Beachmere.”

“It also lets families get involved with dads going out throughout the evening and children getting involved on the Sunday morning,” he said.

Beachmere has the best of all worlds with estuary fishing in the Caboolture River or Pumicestone Passage as well as offshore fishing in Moreton Bay.”

The Beachmere Sports Fishing Club has been operating for over 25 years and welcomes new members. Contact President Troy or Secretary Andrew through their facebook page or on the web at beachmeresportsfishingclub@gmail.com.au.
