Bribie Island Croquet Club is a proactive club managed and run by enthusiastic volunteers . The club not only supports its members but also has a strong community spirit. The club encourages community participation by holding “Come and Try” days, coaching U3A members and weekly croquet participation by some very special students from Banksia Beach Primary School. Once a year the club holds a fund raising day to raise much needed money to benefit our local community. This year the fund raising day will be held on the 24th of November with all proceeds going to support the valuable work of the Bribie Island & District Neighbourhood Centre. The Centre provides free assistance, information and programs to members of our community doing it tough. Whilst receiving some government funding, the centre also relies on the support of the community to maintain a wide range of services. The fundraising day is open to the community and is guaranteed to be lots of fun. Included on the day will be social games in the morning commencing at 10:00am, a sausage sizzle from noon, raffles and a market stall and a team challenge in the afternoon. If friends, club or organisation would like to enter a team(s) of four in the team challenge you can contact Jan on 0437 008 042 or Lyn on 0419 404 166. No Croquet experience is necessary and coaching and equipment will be provided. Winner of the Team Challenge will have their name placed on the Croquet Mallet Trophey for 2018 and will receive a trophy’ to display at their club or organisation. No experience required.
