Beachmere Area Network Group, the voluntary body organising and facilitating community activities and events in the Beachmere area, is looking for new members and volunteers.

Treasurer, Mary Brown, says the current Committee will step down at the November Annual General Meeting and it is imperative that the activities and events that BANG organises continue in the Beachmere community.

“BANG not only organises large events like the Christmas Bazaar & Community Carols, and FAB, the Fabulous Art Beachmere Exhibition, we also support many small community groups, facilitate new projects and groups and manage the Hub at Beachmere, which is used for community events and celebrations,” Mary said.

“We have strong processes in place, but we have a great opportunity to refresh and grow,” she said, adding, “It’s also a wonderful opportunity to learn new skills or even update those you have.”

Mary, who has been a volunteer at VMR Bribie as well as a BANG Committee member for many years says there is certainly no better feeling than volunteering for your local community.

The BANG Annual General Meeting will be held on Tuesday, 15 November at 6pm at the Hub, Main St, Beachmere.
