Australia Day means so many different things to so many people.

In Beachmere it’s all about having a fun, relaxing time with family and friends under the trees in Clayton Park at the Picnic in the Park.

Locals tak a wander through the community stalls or bring a rug for the kids and chairs for the oldies.  They might drop in for an hour or they might stay all day and listen to the band, join in the games and activities and test their knowledge at the Great Aussie Quizzz.

It’s a fun, relaxing, social few hours without the hassle of driving to anywhere else on busy roads.

There are no big budgets, huge sponsors, fireworks or big productions.  It’s sitting chatting to old friends, meeting new locals, catching up with family and just, enjoying the day.

Beachmere Area Network Group organise the day and wanted to thank all the volunteers and community groups who joined in to make the event a great day!
