There was a buzz as residents and visitors to Bribie clamoured to find the best advantage point along the canals to view the annual Bribie Island Christmas Lights Boat Parade. The weather was perfect and all was set for a great night.

Family groups gathered with picnics and beach chairs to make the most of the night. Local community groups gathered in the nearby parks with barbecues to celebrate Christmas and to reconnect with their neighbours. Many private parties were held in the stately homes along the canal, decorated with Christmas lights adding to the vibrancy of the occasion. No one was disappointed, with young children calling out in delight as local boaties put on a spectacular parade of lights to remember. The parade got underway from the Pacific Harbour Marina at 7pm, making its way out to Pumicestone Passage and then turning around to do a circuit of the local canals.

It was a great night and a superb community event. Congratulations and gratitude must go to the Pacific Harbour Residents Community Association, Bribie Island VMR, the many sponsors, including gold sponsor Bribie Island Realty, silver sponsor Aqua Capture, bronze sponsor United Strata Management and the City of Moreton Bay.
