Caboolture Community Action (CCA) are able to continue doing their amazing work thanks to generous donations like the profits from Member for Longman Terry Young’s recent seniors expo. Held in October 2022, the seniors expo had more than 140 exhibitors (combined) to make it the largest seniors expo that Mr Young has hosted in the Longman electorate.

The expo is going from ‘strength to strength’ each year with an even larger expo planned for October 2023. Expos like this one provide so much information to the elderly in the form of displays, guest speakers, show bags and referrals. The profit from each seniors expo is donated to a worthwhile cause with the 2022 expo donation of $1068 presented to CCA.

Caboolture Community Action does so much for our local community. Not only do they provide food and support daily to people in need but over the last few years, they have provided Christmas hampers to those less fortunate. Prior to Covid, the group created 125 Christmas hampers, the first year of Covid they created 275 hampers and at present they have capped themselves at 400 hampers - that is a lot of work and generosity all provided by CCA.

CCA offers practical outreach, support and encouragement to people in the local Caboolture/Morayfield area who are experiencing extreme hardship, homelessness or at risk of homelessness. They provide services such as food relief, housing assistance and referrals and more. CCA is a non-government funded, not-for-profit organisation managed entirely by volunteer staff.

Mr Young believes that the seniors expo provides assistance and support to our elderly, which in turn can assist groups such as CCA to help some of our most vulnerable members of the community.
