Beachmere Area Network Group (BANG) have been a major organiser of activities and events in Beachmere for several years.

Producing Beachmere Art & Music (BAM) after winning the Animating Moreton grant they have taken on the Beachmere X-mas bazaar and community carols. Beachmere’s covid hit sesquicentenary celebrations that grew into the Back to Beachmere festival, senior X-mas lunches and the hugely popular Fabulous Art Beachmere (FAB) among the many events they organise each year.

BANG also manage the Beachmere Hub which has become a home for U3A Beachmere and the venue for local life celebrations, birthday parties and wedding receptions and auspice a number of groups to grow and support the local community.

Outgoing President Karen Harris urged Beachmere residents to stand for a position on the BANG committee to ensure the activities and events continue.

“There are templates in place for those who want to continue the events already established but there are also amazing opportunities for a different direction or programs for the community”.

Anyone interested in a role on the Committee can call or email or send us a message through our website for a nomination form.

The BANG AGM will be held Tuesday November 15 from 6pm at the Hub, Main St Beachmere.

Guest speaker on the night will be local identity Karen Wallwork.  “What started as an idea to make a walk along the foreshore ‘a little more interesting’ has resulted in not one but two books on the collective memory of Beachmere.”  Karen’s book ‘Beachmere – Then & Now’ has been a huge hit since its release in 2020.  It’s companion, ‘Beachmere Revisited’ will be available from December.
