After falling victim to Covid-19 in 2020, the Moreton Bay Region Business Excellence & Innovation Awards are back this year to celebrate the outstanding achievements and resilience of the businesses that contribute to the region’s economy and provide jobs for locals.
Announcing the return, Moreton Bay Region Industry and Tourism Chairman Shane Newcombe said “Over the past 18 months Moreton Bay businesses continued to demonstrate that they are Moreton Bay Tough. Only by working together can we achieve a bigger, bolder, brighter future for Moreton Bay.”
With so many business success stories and economic triumphs, Mayor Peter Flannery said he expected a strong line-up of nominations for both business and individual categories.
“Our awards will celebrate those success stories within our 29,000 strong business community, with several nomination categories open, from youth innovation and customer service to key priority industries linked to our Regional Economic Development Strategy.”
In addition to the top Business of the Year Award there are separate Excellence Awards for Food and Agribusiness, Advanced Manufacturing, Tourism Business, Customer Service, Exporting, Environment & Sustainability, Not-For-Profit and Innovation, while awards for Individuals will cover Youth Innovation Excellence, Businesswoman of the Year, Employee of the Year and Entrepreneur of the Year.
The awards, which are free to enter, are presented by Moreton Bay Region Industry & Tourism (MBRIT) and Moreton Bay Road Runners, and partnered with Moreton Bay Regional Council.
Nominations close on Friday 27 August, with finalists to be announced on Friday 1 October and the Gala Awards presentation taking place on Friday 19 November.
