Things are heating up for a big summer of fun at the Sandstone Point Hotel and holiday resort with exciting new facilities in full swing and more still to come. A new heated pool, swim up bar and jacuzzi spa are now open at the holiday resort with construction underway for 21 new eco villas and also a mini golf course.
Situated in a paperbark forest the Eco Villas are the first of their kind at the resort. Immersed in tall trees and greenery, you’ll be close to world-class facilities but feel far away with nature at your doorstep.
Construction work is also taking place on the hotel’s Oyster Shed Beach Club with plans to open this summer. What was once the Oyster Shed fish and chippery has been reimagined into a Bali-style beach club. The idea came about after director Rob Comiskey holidayed in Bali with family in 2019. He was inspired to bring a taste of the laid-back experience and offering of the incredible beach clubs typically seen in Seminyak and Canggu. The Oyster Shed Beach Club will encompass the same Sandstone Point feel you all know and love but with cruisy daytime DJs, more cocktails and new exciting facilities.
Sandstone Point Hotel’s waterfront will soon be lined with palm trees, bean bags and an all-new cocktail bar and restaurant. The Oyster Shed Beach Club will still continue to offer fresh seafood and stunning views of the Pumicestone Passage but with even more to enjoy.
Rob Comiskey is excited to see visitors get even more out of their experience at the hotel and resort.
“We always try to stay innovative and continually improve our businesses,” Rob said. “We aim to keep reinvigorating our venues, giving guests new and exciting facilities to look forward to and enjoy. We are always trying to see what’s missing or what we could do better, we even ask our kids! A swim up bar is one of my favourite holiday past times and I know my wife would agree. My kids can’t wait to have a putt at the new mini golf course and I hope yours are just as excited!”.
The new eco villas and mini golf course are expected to open in late 2022/early 2023 with the Oyster Shed Beach Club planned to open in December.
In other news for The Comiskey Group, they have also announced the development of the Dakabin Hotel, shopping centre and boutique village across 3.75ha of land with construction set to commence in early 2023. The development will sit adjacent to Alma and Old Gympie Road with a 2500sqm shopping centre, a gym, cafes and other outlets including Guzman Y Gomez, KFC and a Night Owl service station.
