Opposition Leader David Crisafulli’s Health Crisis Town Hall arrives on the Sunshine Coast today, after a successful launch in Brisbane this week.

Mr Crisafulli will be in Caloundra to speak directly with locals about the current crisis facing Queensland’s health system.

“It’s not about a record health budget, it’s about the government’s health record,” Mr Crisafulli said.

“If you truly care about people, it’s not about how much money you’re spending, it’s about ensuring our frontline staff have access to it and Queenslanders have access to a world class health system.

“Sadly, the state government is losing control of the health system.

“The LNP has been inundated with cries for help from honest Queenslanders. Their stories are harrowing. That’s why I’m hosting these town halls. “We’ve already put solutions on the table for the state government to adopt including real time data monitoring, better resources for triaging and more funding on the front line on beds.

“Surgery wait lists are getting worse, ramping is out of control, police cars are being used as make-shift ambulances and the North West Hospital Board is facing the sack.

“Leaked documents to the LNP show half a billion dollars will be cut from health services at a time when our hospitals are at breaking point.

“Patients want better healthcare and our hard-working frontline staff are crying out for more support.

“I encourage people to come forward as we continue to listen to honest Queenslanders who’ve been horribly let down by a state government which is more focused on excuses than outcomes.

“Together we can fix healthcare in Queensland.”

The Opposition Leader and Shadow Health Minister will hold further Health Crisis Town Halls in the Far North and Central Queensland this week.
