Luck was certainly on the side for 16 people in Caboolture recently, sharing in a $5 million division one Powerball prize.
Their 16-person store syndicate held the only division one winning entry nationally in Powerball draw 1448, drawn on Thursday February 15. In addition to scoring division one, the syndicate’s PowerHit entry also won multiple divisional prizes, bolstering the group’s total windfall to $5,164,871.49. Each syndicate member took home a $322,804.47 share.
Entries into the store syndicate were sold at The Local Caboolture South, Shop 6, Market Plaza, 49-55 Morayfield Road, Caboolture. Owner Sandeep Arora said he was elated to discover so many of his customers had shared such an incredible prize. “This is the first division one win I’ve been part of so it’s a very exciting day not only for my winning customers but for me also,” he said. “To see it shared between so many as well is just wonderful. It will definitely change each person’s life in different ways and what a way to kick off the weekend! I just want to wish them all the best for the future and I hope they enjoy celebrating this winning news.”
The winning numbers in Powerball draw 1448 (Thursday February 15) were 35, 34, 19, 10, 18, 15 and 5. The all-important Powerball number was 20.
