Planning for your future

By Staff Writer Sheree Hoddinett

How much have you thought about the future? While it’s not everybody’s favourite topic - what happens with everything when I’m no longer here - it pays to have things organised and in place long before the worry sets in.

If this sounds like something you need to take care of, then the upcoming Wills, Estate Planning and Support Services information session on May 5 is the place you need to be.

Planning for your future can bring a sense of comfort and assurance that your wishes will be carried out as you move through life’s changes. These plans can include your Wills, Estates, Power of Attorney and living arrangements. These decisions and conversations can be tricky, but you don’t need to do it alone.

Wills and Estate planning can help ensure that your beneficiaries are protected, and your assets can be distributed as you deem appropriate. Having a good Estate plan in place can also be a benefit if you reach a point in your life where you are no longer able to make your own decisions.

Head along to a free information morning at the Bribe RSL, where you will hear guest speakers from local services - Public Trustee, Aged Care Planning, Relationships Australia and Home Instead - detailing the support available to you and your loved ones when planning for your future. This is an open invite to anyone who is wanting to plan for their future or make changes to the arrangements they currently have in place.

A spokesman for the upcoming event encourages those looking to plan for the future and making the transition to the next stage of their life, to come along and make the most of this opportunity.

“It’s not often you have all these services available, in the one place, to offer up all the necessary knowledge and help you plan for the next chapter of your life,” the spokesman said. “If you haven’t started the process yet or you have questions about your options, please come along and have a chat to the representatives to see how they can help.”
