Recipient of the QLD Car Sales and Detailing Volunteer Award for August

Nominated by Barry Clark, Founding President of the Bribie Island Historical Society, Lynne, who lives at Bongaree, has been on the Committee for over 10 years, three of them as President.


Describing her as “one special lady,” Barry says “As well as outstanding work in her current role as Secretary, Lynne is someone who has a strong commitment to volunteer work for the public good, which she does to the highest quality and benefit.”


Among her many achievements Lynne has produced and published a ‘Handy History’ booklet, is currently developing a website, volunteers with Toc H and Coungeau House and at St. Peters Anglican Church, and does exceptional work to research aspects of local history at the Bribie Library twice a week, which she presents to the public.


She is also a popular guest speaker at local clubs and organisations, and is a tutor at the Bribie Island University of the Third Age (U3A).
