“As proud as punch”
Jennifer Ison (holding their recent Glass House Small Business Award) is surrounded by orchards.
With so much colour and a big welcoming smile, one can’t help but be impressed when they visit Red Fox Orchards in Caboolture (191 Dances Road). There are orchards everywhere, with an expansive wholesale flowering Cattleya Orchard nursery, supplying local nurseries with a high-demand product. Business is going well, with the biggest challenge being how to meet the demands for their premium product. As the only flowering Cattleya nursery in Australia, they hold a unique market position brought about by hard work, innovation and cleverly focusing on a specific market niche.
Recent silver winners of the Glass House Small Business Awards Moreton Bay, the business run by husband-and-wife team Kurt and Jennifer Ison were thrilled to win the award, a genuine acknowledgment. Jennifer is the face of the company and can usually be found in the retail shop attached to the main nursery.
“Orchards are easy to grow and we are here to help our customers on their orchard-growing journey,” she said. “We are a true family business. We moved to our current site three years ago from Landsborough and we haven’t looked back since.”
