Thursday 24 February saw 23 brave (or quite silly) women venture out in the rain to play. 15 of those players managed to complete 18 holes. Since then, as we all know, there has been an unprecedented rain event. Now the course is closed for at least the rest of this week. Here are photos of our 2nd Tee looking up the “fairway” and our 12th green, looking back down the “fairway”.
Sunday 27 February, the event to be held at Murgon, the District Committee’s Day, was also called off. However, it has been rescheduled for Sunday 21 March. Hopefully by then all our District Golf Courses should be up and running again.

Rain stopped play on 10th March, which was our Open Day. So not to waste an opportunity, our Captain, Ailsa Lauchlan, invited all players to lunch and a spot of socializing, at the Golf Club and to observe for ourselves how the course was recovering. A great time was had by all, with around 60 women golfers attending. Following is a group photo with our Chef, Brian, front and centre. Open Day is now rescheduled for Thursday 24 March.
17/3/22 St Patrick’s Day Irish 4BBB: The course was still recovering so a St Patrick’s Day Lunch was organised by the Committee, with Table Trivia, Duck Races for the drawing of the Women’s Monthly Square, Best Dressed Prize (green day), Leprechaun Races with 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes, and a Putting competition with 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes.
Table Trivia was won by the Team of Lyn Ball, Marg Sills, Kris Tomalin and Desley Neilson.

The course was slowing drying out and we were allowed to play - “woopee” say all the golfers - no carts were allowed on the course. However, will be from Saturday onwards.
