Seniors expo returns

The popular Longman Seniors Expo is back this month, bringing together seniors, families, community organisations and service providers for two free events in Caboolture and Bribie Island. 

Member for Longman Terry Young said this year’s expos would offer seniors an opportunity to connect with a wide range of organisations while also making the events welcoming and enjoyable for grandchildren and families. 

“The Longman Seniors Expo has always been about connecting our seniors with the services, information and organisations that can make a real difference in their lives,” Mr Young said. “But we also know many grandparents are actively involved in looking after their grandchildren, so this year we wanted to make it easier for them to come along and enjoy the expo as a family.”  

A kid’s area and petting zoo will be among the attractions, giving grandchildren something to enjoy while grandparents browse the many informative stalls. 

Visitors will be able to speak directly with stallholders covering areas including: 

• health and wellbeing 

• lifestyle 

• community services 

• travel 

• hobbies  

• other relevant services 

The expos will also feature live entertainment, a barbecue, coffee cart, lucky door prizes and plenty of opportunities to connect with local community groups and organisations.  

“Our seniors have contributed enormously to our community, and these expos are about bringing information and services together in one convenient place while also creating a relaxed and enjoyable morning out,” Mr Young said. 

“Whether you’re a senior, a carer, a family member or you simply want to find out more about what’s available in our community, we’d love to see you there. And bring the grandkids, there’ll be plenty for them to enjoy too.”
