Is it time to absorb yourself in a new and exciting hobby? It might be time to venture out and see what Bribie Radio Controlled Yachts has to offer. The group sails and fosters the popular Dragon Force 65 and 95 class model yachts, which enjoy world-wide distribution and have clubs throughout Queensland and Australia.
At Bribie Radio Controlled Yachts, you will be given a friendly introduction to the hobby, whether you're a novice or an experienced sailor. Lots of advice and assistance is available for those interested in learning to sail.
This is a well-established group, having commenced sailing at the small lake along Sunderland Drive, Banksia Beach about 2005, mostly with home-built boats. They have evolved over the years to now race the DF class as affordable, fast and fun yachts to sail. The class is strictly controlled by the parent organisation to ensure a level playing field and to keep costs down.
Formal racing is conducted for the DF65 class yachts on Thursday. Casual racing for any and all models of yachts takes place on a Sunday at Harmony Park (Melia Street, Bongaree) from 12.30pm until about 3pm.
You will feel very welcome, so come along and check it out. There is even a loan yacht available for visitors to give it a go. We’re a friendly bunch and we thoroughly enjoy the afternoon.
