Welcome to issue 62

This issue brings us some wonderful changes to two of our regular columns, I’m very excited to welcome and announce LOCAL Boy, Anthony Cass or Palegic Hunter to the LOCAL News team who is now writing our fishing report.

Anthony has great knowledge and experience about fishing around our LOCAL waterways and outer reefs. He has ramped up the fishing report to provide much more information for the serious fishermen. His article is full of tips about what type of lurers to use, where the fish are biting and what type of fish are being caught each month around our LOCAL outer reefs. You will recognise his green boat in our waterways when you are out and about. Anthony will also advise the best weather conditions to catch your fish relevant to each issue. You will definitely get excited by the photo’s of his catch’s alone in his articles. He is also happy to communicate directly with you if you have any questions.

I am equally excited we have a Senior professional horticulturist who is well known to the LOCAL readers, Jill Ross from Browns Mitre 10. Jill will be providing you with lots of tips on plants of the month, how to grow your plants at home, best conditions and the right soil to use and is also available at Browns Mitre 10 to talk directly to you with any questions you may have for your Garden, even better Jill can show you her range to compliment her articles. Browns Mitre 10 have a huge selection of many different plants for many different gardens. I can’t wait to share with you Jill’s wealth of knowledge as a Senior professional horticulturist for many years in issue 63.

Once again, we have some fantastic articles, about our local health system both GP’s and Caboolture hospital. Bribie Island ANZ branch is closing it’s doors on Bribie Island and what that now means for the LOCALS, Beachmere is finally celebrating their 150th birthday after having to put it off last year due to COVID 19 with loads of events happening in Beachmere next month and a fantastic pull out section so you don’t miss an event.

Enjoy your read and as usual, I look forward to your feedback. Please support our local businesses before you shop anywhere else.

Warm regards

Belinda Ferguson
