Applications open for 2018 NCWQ Moreton Bay bursary

Applications are open for the National Council of Women of Queensland (NCWQ) and Moreton Bay Regional Council’s $1,000 study grant.

The bursary is offered every year to a female tertiary student living in the region who is able to demonstrate a commitment to leadership in their local community.

Mayor Allan Sutherland encouraged eligible residents to apply.

“We have so many inspiring women in our region, and this is a great way to support them in their studies and recognise their hard work in the community,” Mayor Sutherland said.

In 2017, Burpengary resident Tiffanie Turnbull was awarded the bursary for her work as founder of the Academic Success Peer Mentoring Program as well as her efforts at school and at the Pine Rivers District RSL Sub-branch.

The NCWQ is a non-party-political, non-sectarian, not-for-profit, umbrella organisation with largely humanitarian and educational objectives.

Applications are open until June 4, 2018.

To apply head to www.ncwq.org.au/bursaries or email bursaries@ncwq.org.au
