Game against Aspley Hornets played under foggy conditions at Bribie
The week prior saw the Bulldogs host the powerful Aspley Hornets, who came in this year as the team to beat. It was first playing second. The game was tight all night and low scoring, due to the pressure applied by both teams and the conditions the game was played under. It was like it was being played in the English moors, with a low cover of mist covering most of the ground and at times it was hard to pick out some players. Bribie came through in the end with a gutsy win 4.16.40 to 5.4.34. Bribie led at the first change 0.5.5 to 0.1.1. Dave McFaul kicked 3 goals and Mitch Kellogg kicked 1.
After 8 rounds the ladder is: Bribie Island 28 pts, Coorparoo 24, Aspley Hornets 20, Jindalee 16, Ipswich Cats 16, Yeronga South Brisbane 12, Marcelin Old Boys 4, Ferny Grove 4 and Springwood 4.
Friday, June 1st, Bribie are away to Jindalee then on Sunday, 17th June, they are away again to Ipswich Cats at 2pm at Ivor Marsden Sports complex. The Bulldogs next home game will be on round 11 when the boys take on Springwood at the Kennel at 7.30pm.
