U3A Beachmere will “hit the ground running” when they hold their Sign On Day for Term One classes on Friday, 18 January.
Over twenty classes will be available, with an additional three Workshops initially planned, for the term commencing 29 January 2019.
Chair of the U3A Beachmere Steering Committee, Dave Newell, said he was very pleased with the support of everyone in getting the group off the ground.
“From our Launch Day in late October we have had so much support from people wanting to join, and from people putting their hands up to be Tutors and Volunteers,” David said.
“This amazing response will ensure we have a timetable with enough classes and subjects to keep people happy as we settle in. It is a great introduction to the U3A model.
“We have also had great support from the Beachmere Community Hall committee who have found us a home base for our office and organised classrooms for most of our classes.”
“Of course, everyone at Bribie U3A and Caboolture U3A, have been a tremendous support and source of encouragement as well,” Dave said.
“If people miss the Sign On day, we encourage them to visit the U3A Beachmere office at the Beachmere Community Hall in Progress Avenue. They can join up as members, or sign up for classes, or register as a Volunteer.
We would love more people to offer to Tutor classes for Term Two as well.”
Membership is $10 per year and U3A Beachmere have reciprocal rights with both Bribie U3A and Caboolture U3A. For further information email u3a@bang.org.au or call 0456 685 736.
