After more than a year of intensive planning and negotiation, the newly-formed Beachmere Community Garden committee has successfully secured a lease with Council for a large area at the back of Beachmere Hub between Moreton Terrace and Biggs Avenue.

With easy parking and access from First Avenue, the garden will grow a wide variety of plants and edible produce, with considerable attention being given to accessibility, sensory garden design and disability support.

Recent displays at the Back to Beachmere Festival, the Beachmere IGA and a Bunnings Sausage Sizzle have already attracted a great response from the local community. Monthly meetings are held between 3pm-4pm every fourth Sunday at the Beachmere Community Hall in Progress Avenue which are open to anyone interested in the project.

More information and membership applications can be found on the BCG website, beachmerecommunitygarden.com.au
