Bribie Rocks Ladybug Day!

Members of the Bribie Rocks group, whose sole aim is to give enjoyment to others by painting and hiding rocks, celebrated Ladybug Day in style on Sunday, August 29. The group, which communicates via Facebook, placed their colourful bugs nose to tail along the seawall on the Bongaree foreshore at Brennan Park. When all were in place, the line measured an amazing 46.71 metres! While this was just short of last year’s 49 metres, members have vowed to keep painting to try to go beyond that next year. The artists come in all ages, from the children of the Sparrow Early Learning Centre at Sandstone Point, to highly-experienced and very creative artists. They also come from a variety of areas, including a couple of ladies, complete with ladybug wings, who had “flown” up from Loganholme for the event. After the measuring took place, artists and members of the public took the bugs to hide for others to find. It will be interesting to see how far they travel!
