With the publishing of this Issue, we celebrate Mother’s Day. The whole team at the LOCAL wishes every kind of mum a very happy Mother’s Day.

Our Front Cover is a local mum who some of you will know. Kris Tomalin is not just a Mum but also a grandmother, and great grandmother. Sheree, our staff Journo, has written a lovely story on Kris and what it takes to have a close relationship with generations of their children - respect is a must!

On page 16, we look at the candidates for the Longman electorate. Here you will be able to read some of what they stand for, with references to find out more from each candidate and political party.

With the election looming Harvey Fewings has scripted a great article on the truth in politics and what happens on the campaign trail.

There are plenty more great articles throughout the paper and one on our Chief of Staff Kym Braithwaite showcasing her Bribie Glass Art. It really is beautiful.

As always, we encourage you to please support our local advertisers and businesses. It is these people who make this newspaper possible.

Warm regards

Belinda Ferguson
