The roar of engines are set to reverberate across the community for the 2025 Red Ride. Bright, bold and making a strong statement – step up and join the sea of red and be part of the difference in the fight against domestic violence. Red Ride – Ride Against Domestic Violence is a powerful annual event uniting motorbike enthusiasts and the community to raise awareness and funds to combat domestic and family violence.
Over the last five years, Red Ride has grown into a signature charity ride, drawing hundreds of riders each year from across Queensland. At its core, this event is about standing in solidarity with survivors, ensuring that no one in Moreton Bay—or beyond—faces domestic violence alone.
Founder of Red Ride, City of Moreton Bay Councillor Tony Latter has long been an advocate for domestic and family violence prevention. He is also the president of the Centre Against Domestic Abuse (CADA) and sees Red Ride as a unique way to engage the community.
"Motorbike riders are a tight-knit group. They show up for each other and they show up for causes that matter," he said. "Red Ride is about taking that camaraderie and using it to support those who need it most. It’s a visible, powerful message that domestic violence has no place in our community."
Since its inception, Caboolture Rotary Club has also been a driving force behind Red Ride, bringing together local businesses, riders and supporters to create an event that’s about more than just the ride—it’s about community action. The event would also not be what it is today without the Caboolture Sports Club, which has proudly served as the major sponsor for five consecutive years.
After the ride, families, car enthusiasts and supporters can join all the fun and entertainment. Get your toes tapping to the Plumbdogs band, visit the 4 Voices Pamper Van for a bit of glam while the kids enjoy the super slide, rock climbing wall and of course face painting. Try your skills at the VA Extreme marquee with some virtual reality games or check out a stunning display of classic and custom cars.
"The Family Fun Day is where the whole community comes together," Caboolture Rotary Club’s Kathleen Finter said. "It’s not just about raising funds; it’s about raising awareness and making sure everyone—young and old—feels part of the solution."
For five years, Red Ride has raised significant funds to support frontline services, ensuring that those affected by domestic violence receive the help they need. Every year, the event attracts riders from all walks of life—seasoned bikers, weekend riders and even first-time participants who want to be part of something bigger than themselves. Many have personal reasons for joining the ride—some ride for friends or family members affected by domestic violence, others simply ride because they believe in the cause.
"The Red Ride campaign is about empowering our community to take action—whether that’s speaking up when we see something wrong or supporting survivors in our own families," Councillor Latter said. "Through Red Ride, we’re creating a movement that doesn’t shy away from the issue; we’re showing that we’re not going to stay silent anymore.”
Red Ride isn’t just for motorbike enthusiasts—it’s for anyone who wants to support a safer community. Whether you ride, show off a classic car, bring the kids for a fun day out, or simply donate, every contribution makes a difference. The roar of engines through the streets isn’t just the sound of a ride—it’s the sound of a community coming together to say no to domestic violence.
"Too often, domestic violence is seen as someone else’s problem, Red Ride is about making sure that as a community, we don’t stay silent,” Councillor Latter said. “It’s about speaking up, supporting survivors and sending a clear message that violence has no place here.”
The Red Ride is on Saturday May 17 from 8am with the family fun day and car show from 11am-2.30pm at the Caboolture Showgrounds, 140 Beerburrum Road, Caboolture. For more details on how to participate, visit redride.org
